17 Street Vendor Stalls in Petamburan Demolished

Central Jakarta Administration keep trying to normalize the water channel. As many as 17 street vendor stalls which were standing on the water channel along Jalan Petamburan IV, Central Jakarta, demolished, Wednesday (4/22).

We tore down as many as 17 stalls. Part of them have been demolished by the owners and the rest will be demolished today

The demolition which involved 40 joint personnel from Satpol PP and Cleanliness PHL went conducive. By using crowbar and hammer, the officers tore down one by one the stalls which made of wood. The debris then transported using truck owned by Jakarta cleanliness Department.

Petamburan Urban Village Head, Muhammad Rodi, said before being controlled his party has given a warning letter three times to those street vendors thus they demolish their own stall due to violating Local Bylaw No.8/2007 about Public Order.

"We tore down as many as 17 stalls. Part of them have been demolished by the owners and the rest will be demolished today," he uttered.

To prevent the street vendors back to occupy the water channel, his party will coordinate with RT and RW for helping supervise the location.

"After being controlled, water channel normalization, road reparation, trees pruning will be conducted by related parties," he disclosed.
